If it ain't one thing...

Good Morning! Every now and then when I feel like wasting time, I pop on here and add more useless blather that nobody is ever going to read. But hey, wait a minute...Aren't YOU reading this right now? Then perhaps I was not wasting my time after all! (Sorry that it's still useless blather.)

The Good News is...

The good news is...
we aren't having a drought!

I was late for work today because one of the roads that I always take was completely closed due to massive flooding.

The Blackstone River forced its currents across the road. It was quite a spectacular sight. This was not calm water!

I was disappointed that I was scheduled to be in work, which meant I couldn't get my 35mm camera and photograph the remarkable scene.

Fortunately, I did have a cheap digital camera in my car; so I grabbed that, and took a few quick shots before finding another route in which to head off to start my 25-hour straight work shift!

Today, the governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, declared a state of emergency due to the state-wide problem of flooding! This will bring in financial assistance from the Federal Government to aide in the repair/recovery process.

The above photo--where the road was closed and I couldn't pass through to get to work--was taken at a place called, "Plummer's Corner" in Whitinsville, Massachusetts. (Whitinsville is a section of Northbridge, Massachusetts.)

Some information about the Blackstone River can be found here.

Here's an official map of this area of the river. This is a .pdf file, and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader (or compatible software) for opening & viewing this link.

I am sure it could have been God himself behind the camera that day... I guess this is how it all began for me!
